A próxima revolução das cidades virtuais 3D, será sem dúvida a implementação e posterior massificação das mesmas naqueles aparelhos, que muitos de nós já usamos nas viaturas o navegador GPS. A empresa Tele Atlas, baseada em estudos feitos aos seus clientes concluiu que 81% dos mesmos preferem visualizar as informações nos seus navegadores em três dimensões ao invés de 2D. Assim adiantou-se no mercado e lançou as primeiras 50 cidades num total de 2000Km2, em cartografia 3D no passado mês de Junho e prepara-se para ter, até ao final do ano, cobertas as mais importantes cidades europeias, americanas e asiáticas por esta tecnologia. 
A Terceira dimensão urbana nos sistemas de navegação por satélite é uma evolução natural do Mercado, agora o quão influenciará a navegação “in-car” face ao actual tipo de mapas ainda é uma longa questão a debater…
